At a golf ball factory, 60 golf balls were inspected and 48 of them passed inspection. Out of 2,500 golf balls made at the factory, about how many would you predict would fail an inspection?

So, out of 60 balls, 48 passes and 12 did not that gives us a failure rate of 20%
20% of 2500 = 2000 hence 500 balls would not pass inspection,

Answer:

500 Golf Balls fail an inscpection at factory.

Explanation:

Given: No of golf ball inspected = 60

No of golf ball passed = 48

To find: No of golf balls fail the inspection out of 2500 balls.

First we find No of golf ball failed the inspection out of 60. To find the percentage of golf ball failing the inspection

No of golf ball failed the inspection = 60 - 48 = 12

Percentage of Golf ball failed the inspection =
(12)/(60)*100

=
(1)/(5)*100

= 20 %

Now,

No of golf balls failing inspection out of 2500 balls = 20 % Ă— 2500

=
(20)/(100)*2500

=
20*25

= 500

Therefore, 500 Golf Balls fail an inscpection at factory.
