Slope is defined as the change in y with respect to the change in x.

m = (y_2 - y_1)/(x_2 - x_1)

Plug in the values.

(1 - 1)/(1 - (-1)) = (0)/(2)

So, the slope is equal to 0. Which means its a horizontal line.
