Manuela has two boxes. The larger of the two boxes has dimensions of 15 cm by 25 cm by 20 cm. The smaller of the two boxes is a cube with sides that are 10 cm long. If she were to put the smaller box inside the larger, what would be the remaining volume of the larger box?

Volume of a cuboid is lenght times depth times height

Volume of the large box is 15×20×25=300×25=7,500
Volume of the small box is 10×10×10=100×10=1,000
7,500-1,000=6,500

6,500cm³

Explanation:

Here, the dimensions of a larger box is 15 cm by 25 cm by 20 cm,

So, the volume of the larger box = 15 × 25 × 20 = 7500 cm³,

Now, the side of the smaller cubic box = 10 cm,

So, the volume of the smaller box = side³


=10^3

= 1000 cm³

∵ the smaller box is inside the large box then,

The remaining volume of the larger box = volume of the larger box - volume of smaller box,

= 7500 - 1000

= 6,500 cm³
