So another way of doing this is:
10% of $42,000 is $4,200
So
5% is $2,100
Now
1% is $420 x 2 which means 2% is $840
So simply do:
$2,100+$840 = $2940
So the 7% income is $2940
Just made it more simple for you hope it helps.
