time = distance / speed
time = (7/8) / (3/8)
= 7/8 * 8/3
= 7/3 or 2 1/3 minutes or 2 minutes and 20 seconds

Answer:

7/3 minutes

Explanation:

If the runner is 7/8 miles from the finish line, if she can travel 3/8 mile per minute, we can determine the time by taking the inverse of the speed multiplied by the distance left:

=(8/3)\cdot{7/8}

=7/3

The runner takes 7/3 minutes to finish the race.
