assuming you meant 12+(38-18)²
PEMDAS
order of operations
so first simplify inside the paretnahsees
38-18=20
now we has
12+(20)²
exponents
20²=400
now we has
12+400
addition
412

the answer is 52. remember PEMDAS (parentheses, exponents, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction) you can use "please excuse my dear aunt sally" to help you remember! :)
