The answer is A: Gregor leaves his room and the renters see him.

In this short story by Franz Kafka, The Metamorphosis, we find the main character, Gregor Samsa, turned into a bug, for no apparent reason, at the beginning of the story. As he comes to terms with his new existence, saddened by at all, late in the story, he hears his sister playing the violin, and extremely moved by her music, he leaved his room for the first time in the story to tell her sister that what she is playing is beautiful, but as her sister and the other renters see him, he causes in them nothing but disgust. This sets the story for the dismal concluding scene.

When Grete starts playing the violin in the living room, Gregor leaves his room and the renters see him. Gregor was very much attracted to the music and wanted to come close to it. The lodgers, however, were somewhat disappointed with Grete's playing and did not pay much attention to it leading them to notice Gregor.
