Why did prehistoric people move from one place in the americas to another

The people you are referring to are, what I'm guessing, Nomadic Native Americans. Most of the time, they would move from place to place, in search of materials for their tribes. They would also move with the buffalo, so that they didn't run out of food. Overall the moved because of food, materials, clothes and shelter.
