Ok so basically (x-4)+(2x+5)=4x-8
Now add the first two equations and you get 3x+1=4x-8
Finally, add/subtract like terms. Subtract 3x from both sides and add 8 to both sides which yields to x=9.

Point E is between points D and F. If DE = x-4, EF = 2x+5 , and DF= 4x-8, find X
