Learning is defined behavioral adaptation as a result of circumstances experienced by the organism. Associative learning and imprinting are two types of learning; specifically, imprinting is both innate and acquired, and it results in a lasting response which the individual will continue to repeat. The young offspring will learn behavioral patterns from its parents and species and has a specific impact in the period of sensitivity, an example of this would be a hatchling in an incubator and the offspring will mimic the behavior of the adult parents.
