Whenever conducting an experiment, especially one where a change is monitored over time, it is essential to record the data to ensure proper monitoring of the experiment.
A table may be constructed, with column headings such as "temperature" and "time". Data collected in this manner is also easier to analyze, as well as more convenient to plot on a graph.
