It doubles every 4 hours, so after 24 hours there will be 6 doublings.
2^6 = 64
So, the population will be (3,000,000 * 64) or 192,000,000 in 24 hours.
The answer is B.

Answer: B. 192,000,000

Explanation:

The exponential growth functions in time period x is given by :-

f(x)=Ab^x, where A is the initial amount , b is the growth factor.

Given: Growth factor :
b = 2

Initial population :
A= 3,000,000

Time period to double in size = 4 hours

The the total number of time period in a day :
(24)/(4)=6

[∵A day = 24 hours]

Then , The population of yeast after 1 day ill be :-

f(6)=3,000,000(2)^6=192,000,000

Hence, the population of yeast after 1 day =192,000,000
