Lateral' means 'of or pertaining to the side', so I take it that 192 square yards is the total area of the vertical sides. So the total area of the base and top is (264 - 192) square yards = 72 square yards. The area of the (square) base is therefore 36 square yards and the length of a base edge is 6 yards.
