A number cube is rolled and a coin is tossed. The number cube and the coin are fair. What is the probability that the number rolled is greater than 3 and the coin toss is heads? Write answer as a fraction in simplest form

probability that number rolled is greater then 3......on a number cube, there is 3 numbers greater then 3 (4,5, and 6)...and there is a total of 6 numbers...so the probability would be 3/6 which reduces to 1/2.

probability that a coin toss ends up heads....there is 1/2 a chance it will end up heads, just like there is 1/2 a chance it ends up tails

and since these are both independent events...they are to be multiplied

so the probability of both events happening are : 1/2 * 1/2 = 1/4
