Which equation represents the graphed function?

y = 4x – 2
y = –4x – 2
y =1/4 x – 2
y = –1/4 x – 2

y=1/4x-2 because the slope is 1/4 and the y-intercept is -2. I used the slope-intercept formula which is y=mx+b where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept.

they are all in slope intercept form

y=mx+b
m=slope
b=y intercept

so we see that the line crosses the y axis at y=-2
so b=-2

y=mx-2
that is all of them

easiest way next is to find the slope

slope=rise/run

from (0,-2) to (4,-1)
rise is from -2 to -1 or rise of 1
run is from 0 to 4
so rise/run=1/4

y=1/4x-2
