The missing expression is clearly a part of the factored polynomial.
We have to factor the polynomial.
x⁸+3x⁵
Find the GCF between 1,3,x,5,8
The GCF is x⁵
Divide the polynomial by x⁵
x⁵(x³+3)

I'm assuming that x 8 = x⁸ and 3x 5 = 3x⁵.
So let's solve.
x⁸ + 3x⁵ = x⁵(____)
x⁸ + 3x⁵ = x⁵(x³ __)
x⁸ + 3x⁵ = x⁵(x³ + 3)
Therefore the missing expression is (x³ + 3)
