Hey!

First, let's write the problem.

\pi =7x-2y
Let's switch sides to make it easier.

7x-2y=\pi
Subtract
7x from both sides.

7x-2y-7x=\pi -7x

-2y=\pi -7x
Divide both sides by -2.

(-2y)/(-2)=(\pi )/(-2)-(7x)/(-2)

We know that,
(\pi )/(-2)-(7x)/(-2)=-(\pi -7x)/(2), so let's plug that in on our final answer. That would be,

y=-(\pi -7x)/(2)

Thanks!

In π = 7x - 2y we first isolate y by adding 7x on both sides.
This gives us π + 7x = -2y. Divide 2 on both sides, then we are left with:

y =
-( \pi - 7x)/(2)
