well, let's say the club has a total of "x" members..... well, if "x" is 100% and 35 is the 25%, what is "x"?

\bf \begin{array}{ccllll} amount&\%\\ \text{\textemdash\textemdash\textemdash}&\text{\textemdash\textemdash\textemdash}\\ x&100\\ 35&25 \end{array}\implies \cfrac{x}{35}=\cfrac{100}{25}

solve for "x".

There's a way to think about it, in case you get other questions like this.

When you look at your problem, take out the 35. Out of the picture.

Look at 25%. 25% x 4 = 100% Meaning 4 is golden.

Then bring back the 35 and multiply it by 4. It gives you 140.

:)))) Use this mentality on other question on percentages!
