Suppose Ruth Ann has 5 routes she can choose from to get from school to the library, and 6 routes from the library to her home. How many routes are there from Ruth Ann’s school to her home with a stop at the library?

you have to multiply the first five route and then the 6 to get the 30 routes

There are five routes for the first part, and there are six routes for the second part. Then you would multiply the 5 (the first routes) and the 6 (the second route) to get 30.
