There were multiple flaws in the Articles of Confederation. However, the biggest debate on it was that the federal government had little to no power.

Congress could not tax or draft soldiers: federal executive and judicial branches were nonexistent. The nation was unable to pay debts and laws were difficult to create because 9/13 states had to approve.
