If I had to mention specifically a person, it would be Greta Thunberg. She is standing up for her rights by claiming to the world governments to stop polluting the earth since it is not only her future but the world's destiny that is in jeopardy.

There is no big difference among real-life heroes between present and past. All of them are people fighting for a better future. Probably in the past, most of these kinds of people were fighting towards governments who used their people and money to fight wars to control more territory.
