Unlike life at the top of a body of water, life at the bottom of the body of water A. must rely on other means than photosynthesis. B. receives much more exposure to light. C. is affected by temperature and nutrient availability. D. performs much more photosynthesis.

i have been stuck on this question for quite some time and cant seem to find the answer. help please :)

I think the answer to you r question is C. bc with no sunlight at the bottom the temp is affected. Also I looked up photosynthesis and it said that scientist have found this at the bottom of the ocean so it in fact does perform more photosynthesis

Correct answer: A). Must rely on other means than photosynthesis

It is because the life below the water body relies on other means other than the photosynthesis. As there are a variety of life forms found which are dependent on photosynthesis but there are also some animals and plants that are not dependent on photosynthesis for food. As the sunlight cannot reach to the bottom layer with that much intensity in which photosynthesis can take place, so they must rely on other sources in order to survive.
