The nurse should place the client's personal care items WITHIN THE CLIENT'S REACH ON THE RIGHT SIDE. Right sided unilateral neglect occurs when the right side of the body is neglected; that part of the body is not been utilized to do any work. Unilateral neglect increases the risk of injury. The nurse can enforce the use of the right side by the patient by putting the item he uses regularly at an area which will require the use of the right side.
