The answer is The Grapes of Wrath, he wrote this last 1962 that was set during the Great Depression. It is a commonly shared literature in school.

The story tells about the life of a poor family that struggled during these days. The family had a hard time including the days of the dustbowl.

It was acknowledged as the Great American Novel and became a best-seller book in 1939.
