Tw = Time traveled west
Tn = Time traveled north
Tw + Tn = 9 hours
22Tw + 12Tn = 158 miles
Solve the 2 equations and you get
Tw = 5 hours
Tn = 4 hours
12 x 4 = 48 miles traveled north
