Suppose ABC is a right triangle with B = 90°.

Then, by Pythogoras theorem,


AC^(2) =AB^(2) + BC^(2)


= 7^(2) + 7^(2)


= 2(7^(2))


AC = 7√(2)

= 7 × 1.414

= 9.898

≅ 10 meters
