a game spinner has regions that are numbered 1 through 9. if the spinner is used twice, what is the probability that the first number is a 3 and the second is a 7?

There's a 1/9 chance that it will land on 3 and a 1/9 chance it will land on 7 so you multiply those probabilities together and get 1/81

regions numbered 1 thru 9

P(1st number is a 3) = 1/9
P(2nd number is a 7) = 1/9

P(both) = 1/9 * 1/9 = 1/81 <=
