Choose the equation below that represents the line passing through the point (−3, −1) with a slope of 4. y − 1 = 4(x − 3) y + 1 = 4(x + 3) y − 3 = 4(x + 1) y + 3 = 4(x − 1)

y - 1 = 4(x-3)
- has a slope of 4
- When x = -3, y = -23

y + 1 = 4(x+3)
- has a slope of 4
- When x = -3, y = -1 because (-3 + 3) = 0 and cancels the slope of 4 out and when you subtract 1 from both sides that is the y-intercept.

The two options after that also will not compute a result of 4 needless to prove. The answer is clearly B.
