Because y varies inversely with x, let
y = k/x
where k = constant.
When x=4.4, y=6.4. Therefore
k/4.4 = 6.4
k = 6.4*4.4 = 28.16
The required relation is
y = 28.16/x
When x = 3.2, obtain
y = 28.16/3.2 = 8.8
Answer: 8.8
