Two of the main obstacles associated with hydrogen fuel cell technology in automobiles are: (1) lack of an efficient and cost-effective distribution of the hydrogen fuel and (2) inadequate supply of hydrogen. Currently, hydrogen fuel is being distributed by hydrogen-refueling stations. However, these are very costly to build and not many are willing to invest in it. Also, generating hydrogen is costly and energy intensive, thus, the supply might not meet the demand once hydrogen fuel becomes the mainstream in automobiles.
