so,

3 1/4 = 13/4 ( we obtain this fraction by multiplying 3 with 4 and then adding 1 in the answer ,which gives us 13 and then dividing the answer by 4)

so the equation to determine the product of-4 and 3 1/4 is

-4 * 13/4

the other equation can be obtained by having equivalent of 13/4 which is = 3.25 and then multiply it by -4 ,so we get the equation

-4 * 3.25
