Three times. The decimal place is moved according if it's division (to the left) or multiplication (to the right) and how many zeros the ten has.

Example

5.9477 × 10 to the third power = 5947.7
5.9477 ÷ 10 = .59477

answer would be 4 times

so if u count from behind 7 to where the decimal point is it would be 4
