It is a type of fat or lipid that is synthesized from three fatty acids and glycerol. It belongs to the ester functional group. Triglycerides is the main component of oils and natural fats. The cane be found in the blood and is present in high concentrations. These molecules are being stored in the fat cells which eventually can be used as a source of energy when glucose is not enough or present.
