Let O be the point of intersection of diagonals.

Consider triangles FOE and EOD:
FO = OD, ∠FOE = ∠EOD and OE is a common side ⇒
triangles FOE and EOD are congruent.

In congruent triangles all corresponding sides and are congruent ⇒
EF = DE = 6
