times both sides by (7)(x-1) to eliminate denomenators
3(7)=5(x-1)
21=5(x-1)
divide both sides by 5
21/5=x-1
add 1 to both sides
rmember that 1=5/5
21/5+5/5=26/5=x
26/5=x
5 and 1/5=x
