Here is the formula for calculating the area of any square:
A = s^2

Where s is the side length of the square.

A = 4^2
A = 16

So, the area of the square is 16 square units.

the equation for the area of a square is just one side times another side, and all sides are equal so the area is simply 4 x 4 = 16.
