Researchers have separated the proposed causes of mental illness into three categories: 1) somatogenic, 2) psychogenic, and 3) supernatural.
1- Somatogenic : is related to genes and inheritance, imbalance or damage in the brain.
2- Psychogenic : is related to experiences that are stressful or traumatic
3- Supernatural : related to demonic or evil possessions
