— Nitrogen is actually considered the most important component for supporting plant growth. Nitrogen is part of the chlorophyll molecule, which gives plants their green color and is involved in creating food for the plant through photosynthesis. Lack of nitrogen shows up as general yellowing (chlorosis) of the plant. eutrophication is the build-up of nutrients, especially nitrogen in the water bodies such as rivers, lakes, and oceans, through runoff. The two are closely related since excess nitrogen builds up in water leads to the growth of too many algae, creating a dead zone that decreases oxygen levels in the water, leading to the death of aquatic animals.

Step-by-step explanation:

The nitrogen cycle is when nitrogen in the air is converted into a form that plants and animals can use; eutrophication is the build-up of nutrients, especially nitrogen in the water bodies such as rivers, lakes, and oceans, through runoff.
