You get mountain sickness due to low amounts of oxygen up in higher elevations; therefore, you feel unwell when climbing higher and higher. A suggestion is to climb slowly at first, allowing until your body fully adjust to the mountain terrain. Also, sleep in the lowest area you can find in your surroundings- this will allow you to feel less sick.

Here are a few things you can do to avoid Mountain sickness.

You should climb gently, it takes your body a few days to adjust to reduced oxygen.

Make sure you sleep low, your levels of oxygen are the lowest when you sleep at high altitude.

Avoid alcohol and make sure to relax, you need to keep calm when hiking.
