It is called a POLYSACCHARIDE. Polysaccharides refers to polymeric carbohydrate molecules which are made up of more than two long chains of monosaccharide units that joined by glycosidic linkages. When polysaccharides are hydrolyzed they decompose to their component monosaccharides. Examples of polysaccharides are starch, cellulose and glycogen.
