It is an example of role conflict. A role conflict happens when an individual is assigned to do a role even if it is not compatible with the situation. It is seen above as the couple tries to show a different side of them when their guest arrive just to show or hide their true intentions. It is also seen at Linda's expression as she acts like nothing happened when she knew of what happened.
