The Ozone layer prevents most of the suns harmful rays, such as Ultraviolet from damaging our skin. Without the Ozone layer nothing would be able to survive on the surface.

The ozone layer in our atmosphere protects the earth from the damaging ultraviolet rays radiating from the sun.
