The lateral surface area of a cylinder can be calculated as:

A=2\pi rh

Is the area without counting the base and the top of the object.

A= area

r=radius

h=height

The heigth is h=14 in

The radius is r=8in

For the number pi I'll use it as 3.14

So the area is

\begin{gathered} A=2\cdot3.14\cdot8\cdot14 \\ A=703.36 \end{gathered}

The option that is closest to the calculated surface area is 615.75inĀ²
