How did the physical geography of ancient Egypt shape the development of its civilization?

The Nile River had provided transportation, food, and silt for farming. So the Desert had kept Egypt isolated from the rest of the World, which was good because it kept out invaders, but its also horrible because they could not trade until later on. Hope this Helps :)
