CORRECT EDIT:
"I didn't know you were in there," she said. "Otherwise, I would have knocked."

ORIGINAL:
“I didn’t know you were in here” she said, “otherwise I would have knocked.”

Add a comma after 'here'.
Change the comma to a period after 'said'.
Capitalize 'otherwise'.
