The set of laws established in 1804 was called Napoleonic Code.

The Napoleonic Code is the civil code of France. It is also called because it was approved and published in the year 1804, being at that time Napoleon Bonaparte first consul of france. It is of great importance for the rest of the civil codes of the western world.

This code meant the consolidation of the conquests of the french revolution of 1789. That is to say: legal equality for all citizens, individuality of property, freedom of work, the principle of secularism, freedom of conscience and separation in 3 branches ( executive, legislative and judicial).
