The person will have to consume at least 750 mg of sodium daily. Sodium ions are very important in human body because they are involve in carrying electrical charge round the body. Sodium ions also helps to control blood pressure and to regulate the function of the muscles. Because of these important functions, sodium ion concentration is tightly controlled by the body and any loss of the ion should be promptly restored.
