True because the neritic zone is the relatively shallow part of the ocean above the drop off of the continental shelf. The neritic zone is also known as the coastal water, coastal ocean or the sublittoral zone.

Explanation- Neurotic zone refers to the top layer of the ocean, from the surface of the ocean to a depth of 200 m below the ocean. It is a region where sunlight is maximum, and is a nutrient rich zone. Due to this,numerous, diverse marine life forms exist as well as the marine plants such s corals, phytoplankton and kelps can prepare their food undergoing photosynthesis process.

This neurotic zone when compared to the continental shelf in terms of height, it lies above the shelf, and the water in this neurotic zone is considered as the neurotic water.
