Gravitational potential energy is the energy calculated from an object's mass height and the acceleration due to gravity.
The gravitational potential energy is the energy an object has as a result of the position of the object in a gravitational field. Every object on the surface of the Earth has gravitational potential energy. The formula for calculating this energy is
Ep=mgh
where m is the mass of the object, g is the gravitational acceleration (9,8 m·s−2) and h is the height from the reference point
