We want to find the distance between the points:

(4,0)\text{ and }(0,3)

For doing so, we remember the formula of the distance between two points:

d(P,P^(\prime))=\sqrt[]{(x_1-x_2)^2+(y_1-y_2)^2}

Where P(x₁,y₁) and P'(x₂,y₂). Applying the formula we get:

\begin{gathered} d=\sqrt[]{(4-0)^2+(0-3)^2} \\ =\sqrt[]{4^2+3^2} \\ =\sqrt[]{16+9} \\ =\sqrt[]{25} \\ =5 \end{gathered}

This means that the distance between the points (4, 0) and (0, 3) is 5 units.
